Many construction workers suffer from injuries due to the nature of the work involved. Some of the common injuries include:
- Burns
- Eye injury
- Broken bones
- Knee and ankle injury
- Neck, shoulder or back injury
Depending on the type of role, working in construction can take years off your life, especially if you’re doing hard labour for years. Some construction workers feel as though the retirement age should be lower, because after all, if you compare their work to tat of someone who works in an office, it’s hardly fair they have the same retirement age. What are your thoughts on these common construction injuries? Is it just part of the job or can more be done to prevent problems from happening, and should the retirement age be lower for construction workers? We feel there are many improvment that can be made and it really comes down to big development companies recognising the hard work that goes on at the very bottom of the pay scale.
