Broadband isn’t something that’s likely to be anywhere near the top of a builder’s list when constructing a new property. There is water, gas and electricity to install, and each one of those will have heir own tests when they’ve been connected. You can’t move into a house until they’re ticked off, but you can move into a house without broadband. No matter what people say, broadband is not a necessity. You can live without it and it’s very unlikely to ever be a requirement on a new build. That can cause problems though because the process for installing broadband can be rather time consuming. You can only deal with a network provider, and they then deal with Openreach who connect the cables from the outside line to your house. Make sure you get a start on this early when you’re moving into a new house, otherwise you could face a very frustrating couple of months.
